so...I've had 14 hours to reflect on my play in last night's PJK tourney. I came out of the gate playing tight and aggressive; the play of the tourney, in general, was tight and aggressive -- any 2- or 3-bet could steal the blinds, it seemed, like 75% of the time.
I am really happy with my play, except for a few hands where I slipped into a weird passive realm. I managed to get wired queens, kings and aces in late position or on the button a handful of times, but when I tried to trap I think I over did it: I think I was afraid that a 2-bet wouldn't get any action, so my limp-in was easily sniffed out as a trap. This only happened once really, against EOS, where I got rockets UTG, and called his BB. He checked to me on a flop of A T 8 of spades, and I bet T400. True, he wasn't really in and was probably just seeing the flop for free, but I wished I could get some action for the aces.
The next hand, I'm in the BB, EOS in SB. I get JsTc, and EOS raises T600; I figure he's stealing, so I call. Flop: 3cJcTd. EOS bets T2500, and I call; I'm figuring that he's either 4-flushed or straight, but I'm not feeling a set of Jacks. Turn: 8d. He bets T900 and it puts me all-in; I'm all ready pot-committed. EOS shows KsJh. Only a Q or K stand in my way of the T8400 pot and me doubling up. River: Ah.
A few hands later, I knocked EOS out with a pair of Kings over his pair of deuces.
Once we were down to the final three, UpForPoker, myself, and PaulBurbon, it didn't last long. UFP was all-in pre-flop on the first hand. I had QdQs, Paul had Ah4d, and UFP had TdTs. The board came 8d2d5d7s9d, and UFP was out to my Queen-high flush.
The next hand, I helped PaulBurbon out heads-up by letting him take 2/3 of my money. A few hands later, I was out in 2nd place because I couldn't scare Paul away from the Turn which made his second pair.
All in all, I was very happy with the night -- I did figure out that I'm not able to switch gears from NLHE to LHE, though...good thing I only lost $10 to find that one out.

Great playing! I think I stole one hand from you, but I'm not sure. I was going to be pissed about that last hand with your Q-high flush, but your Q's beat my 10's anyway. It was fun!
Nice game - congrats on the finish! :)
You played great... as soon as I got bounced, you had a lot more breathing room... and was able to open up without a bully to your right. :) Good job!
