it's girthy!

so...I've seen some people talking about this but for some reason it's not generating the buzz I would expect: Ball Park's All-American Hot Dogs.

The new commercial for these hot dogs has a guy standing at the grill, and all he really has to say is "they're girthy!", "I love girthy!", or "it's girthy!"

When did we start referring to the most phallic of all processed meat products as girthy? And why is there a commercial with a guy giving head to hot dogs because they're so girthy!?

(edit: Here's the commercial

And what is it with actors from t.v.'s "According to Jim" hawking franks of some form or another. First it was Jim Belushi selling Johnsonville Brats, now the brother-in-law selling Ball Park Hot Dogs.

Whenever I talk to any of my girlfriends on the phone or when I am gone for the weekend with the girls, I come back and Druzba asks me, "Did you talk about my girth?" Heehee

I would not be a sad girl if I never heard the word girthy again. I think I need to go take a shower after watching that dude bite into that GIRTHY frank.

Check out televisionwithoutpity.com's forums, especially the TV Potluck: Commercial Thread. We're all creeped out by Mr Girthy.

the term "reading" should be taken lightly (more):
