so original

I know it's been said, many times, many ways...

Don't you hate when words that you use all the time begin to look strange? I hate second guessing my spelling on common words!

I've been battling with the word "flag" all afternoon.
flag flag flag flag
if flag = this then that
or can you flag this

after a bit, it just doesn't look right...

I used to run into this with "jungle" and "apple" as well...

Anyone who has ever had to do a mass mailing and sign every single letter will know that horror. As a professional fundraiser, a rule of the trade is that you always sign every letter and write a nice little note. By the time I've signed 500 letters, I'm spelling my own name wrong.

I had a day recently on which 'who' and 'why' stopped looking like words at all.

And Nicole, I know what you're talking about--once I had to sign each fund drive receipt letter with the false signatures of two people, and make them look different. At the end of that I didn't know who I was anymore.

the term "reading" should be taken lightly (more):
The Illuminatus Trilogy: The Eye in the Pyramid, the Golden Apple & Leviathan by Robert Shea, Robert Anton Wilson
Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser
currently "reading" for classes
I should probably be paying more attention to these:
The Education of Little Tree by Forrest Carter, Rennard Strickland
The Indian Heritage of America by Alvin M. Josephy
Two Old Women: An Alaska Legend of Betrayal, Courage and Survival by V. Wallis

I recently saw a clip on CNN that said, while informative, blogs are largely for entertainment purposes, and should not be regarded as news. You should probably disregard everything you read here...just to make sure you stay well-informed.
