*coubullshitgh*

Yay! I'm all for a smoke-free state!

Republican senators denounced the amendment, saying that the state would be improperly intruding into the personal lives of residents. Senator Richard R. Tisei said that smokers are already burdened by increased taxes on tobacco products.

''I can't let this go by,'' said Tisei, a Wakefield Republican. ''One by one, people's personal liberties are being chipped away. It's only a matter of time before someone in this Legislature files a bill to ban butter. Then it's going to be hamburgers, hot dogs.''

Oh! So, banning smoking in public places is "improperly intruding into the personal lives of residents," yet, taking away a woman's right to choose isn't?

I LOVE how Republicans make it all work for them, in this time, regardless of the last line of bullshit to come out of their mouths.

Oh no, Mr. Bill! My civil liberties are being chipped away! Wait. What's that smell? Oh! It's fresh air! Can't have that!!

nothing much to say except that i agree with you.

you know something's wrong when a republican is saying it's his job to protect civil liberties. riiight.

I'm allergic to smoke, so I would be very happy if a law like that was passsed. They'd be saving people from themselves anyway.

I'm all for it, even though it will never happen. oh well :\

the term "reading" should be taken lightly (more):
The Illuminatus Trilogy: The Eye in the Pyramid, the Golden Apple & Leviathan by Robert Shea, Robert Anton Wilson
Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser
currently "reading" for classes
I should probably be paying more attention to these:
The Education of Little Tree by Forrest Carter, Rennard Strickland
The Indian Heritage of America by Alvin M. Josephy
Two Old Women: An Alaska Legend of Betrayal, Courage and Survival by V. Wallis
